Its strong reducing power and specific selective reduction properties are useful in pharmaceuticals, the synthesis of fine chemicals and fragrances, and the refining of natural oils and fats.
In addition to organic synthesis, SBH is also used as a surface treatment agent for multilayer PCB and as a reducing agent in electroless gold- plating solutions.
