Nomura has established a joint venture company, Yoshino Moong Pattana (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in Thailand together with Yoshino Kogyosho, Ltd., to operate import/export sales and materials procurement.

The Advanced Sciences division actively handles a wide range of highly functional materials that support advanced industries in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, personal-care products, electronic materials, and polymers, as well as various industrial organic and inorganic materials that form the basis of industry.

The Health Sciences Division aims at contributing to our society through healthcare products. As an agent of CLEA Japan, Inc., which is a leading company that supplies feed, bedding equipment, and related services for various laboratory animals that are essential for Medical Sciences, Biology, and Drug Discovery Research, the Health Sciences Division works with Nomura Siam International Co., Ltd., which is our joint venture in Thailand, to provide products and services to Southeast Asia and other Asian countries. We supply laboratory animals produced by M-CLEA Biosource Co., Ltd., which is a joint-venture of CLEA Japan, to Asian countries. We also have been importing various specialty chemicals used in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries for a long time. In addition to the existing businesses, we have plans to enter new markets, such as providing analytical equipment for food safety and offering better equipment for elderly care, which has become an issue in the recent years.

The New Business Development Division was established in March 2023 with the aim of creating new businesses over the next 10 to 20 years. The areas of focus are the realization of a decarbonized and circular society, and the improvement of people's quality of life (QOL). In the environmental business field, we are working to establish a supply system for non-edible oils, which are raw materials for SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), in order to achieve carbon neutrality. Considering the global reality that it will be difficult to operate aircraft without SAF by 2030, our company is also accelerating proactive initiatives. In the field of reducing the burden on the global environment, we support businesses such as PET bottle recycling. In the advanced technology field, such as AI utilization technology, we are introducing technology that visualizes the sensory evaluation of food , which has traditionally been performed by humans, by AI. From the perspective of improving QOL, we are focusing on the development of products that contribute to health management and the improvement of convenience in daily life by utilizing sensor technology and other innovations. We will continue to strive for the realization of a better society in the future.
